  This venue is under major construction and name change. The restaurant is open, but not easy to find, due to the front scaffolding etc. The new name is; Oak & Iron Tavern. Will return when the work has been completed.

  Wife & I were looking for a quick meal tonight after work to save cooking. Asked for couple extra minutes to decide on order, waiter never returned. We had to go find someone else. Waited 50min for roast of the day and chicken breast, no one waited on us in all this time, not even for another drink. Shards of crackling & apple sauce as written on the menu were missing from the roast pork. Tasty enough for no frills tavern food but took far too long. Got told there was a function next door for 30+ people, they got in before us. At least warn us then when we order that is the case, so we know. Time to pay...mentioned the roast pork was incomplete as per menu, waiter apologised slightly but was still happy to take full payment. He didn’t seem too fussed about our below average experience. 2 stars for the food, no stars for service. Won’t return.

  Birthday celebrations. Booked table for 12 people Sat luncheon. Asked for window area. Windows boarded up. No view. Power saw being used next to us. Couldnt hear ourselves think. We were in a building site complete with loud radio.

  Poor service. Most meals were nice. staff were friendly when they remembered us. Fawlty Towers....Keep Calm and carry on!
