  I was once very dubious about Aldi. But saving from 20 to 30% on products consistently is a big incentive to keep going. Product choice is limited but most if the essentials are covered and cheap. The specials are a bit quirky! Never know what to expect. ALDI is fun to shop except that the checkout is most unpleasant, no, despite cheerful staff the worst point of the store. Trolleys are too deep and it's hard to unload them. Checkouts are too fast and it's difficult to place goods back in the trolley carefully. It could be an excellent store but that bloody checkout is a big pain.

  Good for pantry items, don't care about their special buys. Maybe I shop on the wrong days or at wrong time of day, but not impressed with their fresh veg and fruit offers 90% of my visits. Either they are out of what I want or it looks a bit "past best.". Good value on bulk mince and the occasional steak or pork roast.

  It's good but nothing great, it is a country version of Aldi so it's just basics.
